It’s refreshing to see an American comedian out there who isn’t sucking off Elon Musk and Donald Trump 24/7, but then Bill Burr has always been consistent when it comes to slating the wealthiest and greediest in society.
Weeks after railing on the assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, Bill Burr went off on a tangent about billionaires and likened them to “rabid dogs” who need to be “put down”:

“The amount of people that are struggling out there because of these f–king billionaires, and they got us all arguing liberal and conservative. We gotta stop doing that, like I am so tired of hearing about people going to bed worried about what’s going to happen next week. There is so much f–king money in this country, and there is so much work being done.
“And if you work a whole f–king week at a job, you should be able to pay your f–king rent. You shouldn’t have to go out and get another f–king job and still be struggling. It’s bad for the country ’cause the kids don’t see their parents and they’re not getting the upbringing they need.”
“These f–king billionaires! They need to be put down, you know? Like f–king rabid dogs. They’re rabid with f–king greed, and just going out and just dividing everybody.”
“The f–king epitome of this time right now, like how divisive we are that like, the Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America, and people get excited. Like, how the f–k does that help your wallet? It’s an empty gesture. And then it’s also like a racist gesture. Like that’s the white guy saying ‘F–k Mexicans’ without saying it. You know, like who has a f–king problem with Mexicans? What is the real problem? This is just such an ugly f–king time.”
Well, it’s hard to argue with that really. I mean, I’m not sure we should ‘put down’ every single billionaire just because they’re a billionaire, but maybe on a case by case basis? What about multimillionaire couples who are only billionaires when their wealth is combined? Do they have to be put down too?
I think Bill Burr’s point is essentially that billionaires shouldn’t exist, full stop. Which might be a fair argument if you consider what an unbelievably obscene amount of money a billion dollars is. Then again, Bill Burr currently has a net worth of $14 million, which can’t exactly be sniffed at either. Is this just a classic multi-millionaire tactic of going “look at billionaires!” to take the heat of himself? Although in fairness, the difference between a millionaire and billionaire is astronomical. Bill Burr never screwed anyone over to get rich, he just tells funny jokes.
Well, anyway, I guess we can now consider Bill Burr the George Carlin of the modern day era. Remember the time he predicted that Kanye West was a Nazi way back in 2017? Not sure how he saw that one coming.
