Actor, writer and director John Turturro has always been quite vocal about his desire to resurrect his classic ‘The Big Lebowski’ character Jesus Quintana and now it looks like he’s actually doing it.

News got out recently that he is currently filming his latest project – a spin-off of the absolute stoner classic ‘The Big Lebowski’ called ‘Going Places’. Cannot wait for this one.

The new movie, which also features Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou and Susan Sarandon, was initially pitched as a rejig of the French comedy ‘Les Valseuses’. This movie tells the story of two thieves who are famous for fighting, jacking shit and charming people and who manage to rope a woman into their illegal activities while competing to win her over. ‘The Big Lebowski’ spin-off could just be a retelling of this story but with Quintana as one of the thieves – we’ll just have to wait and see as more details emerge.
So far Turtorro has been filming for a couple of weeks in New York, although there’s been no official statement on release dates or anything like that. Regardless, it’s good to know the film is underway and we’re thoroughly looking forward to its release. Better save a couple of biftas for that date.
