A bunch of photos were appropriately submitted to Reddit in the WTF section the other day detailing what it’s like to have your belly button removed.
The belly button had been removed from the person’s body for the purpose of body modification (obviously) via a procedure called the naval null. It was performed by the enigmatically named body modification expert John Smith who runs a travelling business called Luna Cobra.

It looks kind of like a bugle. You can check it out on the slideshow – and what an abdomen looks like directly the operation and fully healed – by using the arrow keys on your desktop or sliding on your mobile.
Be warned though, it’s pretty disgusting and can’t really ever be unseen, kind of like this massive worm crawling out of a dead spider’s stomach.
