‘Beavis And Butthead’ was one of the iconic cult shows of the 90s, so it makes sense that it would be time for a reboot right now – I’m just surprised that they’re aiming it at Generation Z apparently.

This is the news that is coming from Comedy Central, who have announced that they’ve signed a two season ‘reimagined’ version of the show, complete with additional spinoffs and specials. Here’s what ViacomCBS‘ Entertainment & Youth Group chief Chris McCarthy said about the deal:
We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on Adult Animation at Comedy Central.
‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.
The new series will see the pair entering a whole new Gen Z world and will feature meta themes relatable to both new and old fans – Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids.
Hmmmm. I’m not really sure how they’re going to do this – do people even watch music videos any more? – but given the fact that Mike Judge is at the helm and I imagine he’ll be bringing back some of the original people behind it as well, I’m confident that it might turn out fairly decent. Probably gonna have to wait at least a year to see it though so I wouldn’t get too excited right now though.
