So this went down at a screening of The Batman in Austin, Texas the other night. Some joker smuggled a real-life bat into the cinema and unleashed it into the crowd as a prank, though maybe some viewers thought they were watching Batman in 3D or something. Apparently management paused the movie and made multiple attempts to get the bat out, but it just wasn’t happening. In the end, they just resumed the film and offered refunds to anyone who wanted to leave.
Amazingly, the majority of people remained in the cinema and enjoyed the film “bat and all”, according to KXAN. Which is pretty surprising considering my first thought would be ‘rabies’ if someone told me I had to be in a room with a bat for 2 – 3 hours. Pretty sure I’d be in the car on the way back home before they even offered the refund. Still, not as bad as the 2012 Aurora incident at The Dark Knight screening I suppose. People really do need to stop acting crazy at Batman screenings though.
