Bali is somewhere I’ve never been, but from holiday pictures and programmes it looks like a tropical beauty. I actually know nothing about the place, probably never will, but thanks to a lazy Google search I found out that virtually everyone on the island is called one of four names – Wayan, Made, Nyoman or Ketut. Weird huh?
Anyway, I was shown the following videos by me old pal Naval the other day, and they are AWESOME. I don’t think I’ve heard Balinese music before, and I’m not sure if this is what normal Balinese music is like. but it’s mighty impressive. In the second video they’re playing a reylon, which is a type of gamelan apparently. I’m none the wiser.

And the first video I think is a straight forward gamelan. Ha! I don’t know what I’m talking about, and it doesn’t matter either. Just watch the accuracy of these two doodes. They play mega fast but in perfect synchrony. They stop the tones of the bars with pin point timing. I just can’t get my head round how they are managing to do that? Probably via telepathy I assume.

This next bunch of guys are Gusti Komin and some friends and family, and they are tight. They look like they’d be a cool bunch to chill out with too. Who’s up for a Sick Chirpse cruise to Indonesia?
