Danny Masterson AKA Steven Hyde from ‘That 70’s Show’ was sentenced last week to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women 20 years ago, and it now turns out his old buddies Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis had written letters in support of Masterson to the judge.

Not only was this a complete waste of time seeing as Masterson got the maximum sentence possible, but the support letters were also leaked to the public and now Kutcher and Kunis are getting it from all angles. Naturally they are now in damage control mode and put out this statement apologising for the letters and saying they always support rape victims, even when the rapist is their former co-star:

So I kinda get where they’re coming from but at the same time, they’re probably only sorry they got caught and are now apologising to save face. In fact they might even be held at gunpoint by their PR team in that video? Looks fairly plausible.

An excerpt from Kutcher’s letter read, “Danny takes his job seriously. He is kind, courteous, and hard working. He treated everyone from the grips to the teamsters to the actors to the caterers as equals. As a role model, Danny has consistently been an excellent one…”

In Kunis’ letter, she calls Masterson an “amazing friend, confidant, and, above all, an outstanding older brother figure. His genuine concern for those around him and his commitment to leading by example make him an outstanding role model and friend.”

I wonder if Fez also wrote a letter? Never forget:
