An artist named Spencer Byles decided to spend one year creating sculptures from organic materials in the forests of La Colle Sur Loup, Villeneuve Loubet and Mougins. His aim was to completely dedicate himself to his craft (although his family did live in the forest with him) in order to create artwork that blends seamlessly with the natural environment.
The project is deliberately secretive, with Bynes refusing to reveal any of the locations of any of these sculptures, so that the only way to discover them is to go looking for them around the forest yourself. You had better be quick if you want to catch them though – the sculptures are also designed to be reclaimed by the natural environment as time progresses.
In the meantime you can check out a bunch of them on the following slideshow and if you like these, then check out these incredible underwater sculptures too.
