The standard protocol for your kids’ doodles is to stick them up on the fridge or on your office desk, no matter how crappy they are. However, Thomas Romain – a French artist who lives in Tokyo – has taken this idea to another level by turning his sons’ doodles into incredible anime characters.

This genre of art is his specialty and he’s worked on various anime series including Symphogear, Space Dandy, Aria and Basquash. But it looks like his best work comes from the characters he creates in what he calls the Father and Sons Design Workshop – a series of tweets that showcase the drawings he does with his two young sons.
Thomas’ sons create all sorts of weird creatures, from cyborgs to monsters to Pokémon-like creatures, and he turns them into incredible anime characters. Since the project started the drawings have gone viral, with thousands of fans eagerly awaiting what the family comes up with next. Coolest. Family. Ever.

How cool would it be to grow up with a dad like that? Sorry dad – I’m not slating your parenting techniques. I’m just saying that having an anime artist as a parent is pretty much every kid’s fantasy. It looks like Thomas’ sons are definitely going to follow in their dad’s footsteps.
