Those of you who grew up in the late 90s and were lucky enough to have cable/Sky will almost certainly remember ‘Are You Afraid Of The Dark?’ the show that presented a different spooky half hour tale to you every week, courtesy of a gang of youths called The Midnight Society.

The thing about the show was that even though it was aimed at kids, it was still genuinely scary in places which is why it still lingers so long in the memory of anyone that watches it. And as with most things that were great in the 90s, it’s now been decided that it’s time to reboot it for a new audience.
Don’t fret though as this one actually sounds like it might be good. The series is for some reason being turned into a feature film – I guess in the style of V/H/S where’s there’s three different tales that last half an hour each or something – and there’s some serious talent involved, notably Matt Kaplan and ‘It’ co-scriptwriter Gary Dauberman.

Given how much of a hit ‘It’ was, I reckon this guy knows what he’s doing and I reckon ‘Are You Afraid Of The Dark?’ could totally work as an anthology movie series that came out every Halloween or something. Just please, please be good and don’t let me down. Please.
