Survival of the fittest is the law of the jungle, and that principal is illustrated perfectly in the video below which was filmed in the Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa.

The footage was captured by game ranger Pieter Van Wyk, who was tracking a pack of wild dogs when they started attacking an antelope that they ran across. Just when it looks like the dogs are literally going to tear apart the antelope with their bare teeth, an angry hippo runs in and scares them off.
Although the antelope might be super stoked that he managed to get out of there alive, it doesn’t last long before the hippo surprisingly turns on him as well. Doesn’t look like this guy’s getting any breaks right now huh?
Yeah, it’s not exactly David Attenborough’s narration is it, but if it was in HD then it’s definitely the kind of footage that Planet Earth would have been pretty stoked to have captured. You gotta feel sorry for that antelope though, he thought he had just cheated death but probably ended up having to meet his maker in an even more painful fashion. So it goes.
