The BBC’s interview with Andrew Tate may not have really gone to plan the other night, but they have now managed to find a fourth woman who says the controversial influencer raped her, and also subjected her to threatening behaviour.
The woman, who was a 20-year-old student at the time, says she first met Tate in 2014 at a bar in Luton where he was working as a bouncer.
She says she had consensual sex with him before meeting him again at her flat later that same year. This time, consensual sex turned violent when Tate began choking her till she lost consciousness. When she woke up, he was still having sex with her.
Evie – not her real name – told BBC Newsnight that Tate “put his hand on my throat and strangled me”. She says when she came round “it was a bit confusing at first”, saying the former kickboxing champion was “still having sex with me” and that she “didn’t consent to it.”
Evie, now 30, claims Tate also subjected her to violent threats, including threatening to kill her, until he left the following morning:
“He kept saying: ‘I own you, you belong to me’. All throughout the night he was being fairly aggressive and saying horrible things.”
Evie did not report the incident to police at the time, as she didn’t realise she had been a victim of anything illegal:
“I think I knew what had happened I didn’t consent to. But I didn’t see it as rape or sexual assault because this was 10 years ago.”
Three people who know Evie – and say they remember her describing what had happened – have told her lawyers they are prepared to give evidence in court. Evie joins three other women who are pursuing civil claims for damages. The women are all in their late 20s or early 30s and allege they were victims of sexual violence by Tate between 2013 and 2016, when he was living in the UK.
The comments under the BBC story on Twitter are pretty sad, with pretty much unanimous support for Tate and complete denial that he would ever do anything like this:
Called it! Just 7 hours before you published.
Predictable move by a failing institution. https://t.co/FsWCq5JmOH

Get over it, you can’t take him down. He remains undefeated despite all the rocks thrown at him.

Oh here we go! Tate burnt your whole agenda and schooled you so bad that you had to muster up any sort of hit piece you could as soon as you could, making yourselves look even more bitter. EMBARASSING corporation the BBC, let me guess… it was Lucy. ♂️

Tate and his brother are still under house arrest in Romania, where they are being investigated for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. No charges have so far been brought against them thus far. Could it be they really are innocent, and that ‘The Matrix’ is setting them up?
Meanwhile, the Tates have also decided to give TikTok troublemaker Mizzy a helping hand. Obviously…
