There’s all sorts of theories as to why Romanian authorities have decided to come down so hard on Andrew Tate all of a sudden, but I’ll tell you what probably didn’t help matters: the revelation that he (allegedly) tried to recruit a Romanian politician’s daughter into sex work when she was 16.

Billionaire Tate, 36, was arrested last week as part of a probe into human trafficking, rape, and organised crime, and now Daria Gușă, the 19-year-old daughter of Romanian MP and media mogul Cozmin Gușă, claims the Tate brothers tried to groom her over Instagram years earlier. Writing on social media, Daria said:

“The first time I became interested in these individuals was when I received a message from one of the Tate brothers, this was 3 years ago.

 

I was 16 years old, I had just created an Instagram account, but I was already out of the country, studying in Austria.

It seemed suspicious to me that a man with several million followers, whom I had never heard of, had sent me an explicit message, with the obvious purpose of ‘hooking’ me.”

She later discovered that some of her fellow female students at her old school in the Prahova region of Romania had received similar messages from the Tate bros:

“Because the sender was located in the Prahova area, I asked my former colleagues from Câmpina high school if they had somehow received similar messages, and three of them confirmed that they had.

I didn’t answer the message, but one of my friends, who was 15 years old at the time and was a student in grade 1Xa, answered, and so the conversation continued for a while with Tate.”

According to Daria, this 15-year-old pal of hers kept up the convo with Tate for some time, during which he tried to persuade her to meet him:

“The individual would propose that she meet him, bragging about the luxury cars they could drive her around or the famous restaurants where they could dine together.

Fortunately, my friend was not naïve and refused, but as a result of the incident, the two Tates began to be monitored in the group of girls targeted by their messages, so I also came to know the details of the stormy exploits of the brothers, publicized and by the scandal press.”

Sounds pretty dodgy alright. Obviously these are just allegations at present, but screenshots from Tate’s old website that were doing the rounds earlier won’t do him any favours as he pretty much admits that he made millions doing exactly what this politician’s daughter is accusing him of. Still, I thought the girls he was preying on would be 18 or 19 at the very least, not 15 year old Romanian schoolgirls. I wonder if he knew that this particular schoolgirl was the daughter of a politician and media mogul? Begging for trouble if that’s the case, even if it took some years for it to catch up with him. Seems the Top G is in for a rocky 2023, and beyond…
