Conor McGregor has no shortage of suitors for his next fight and will ultimately be able to pick and choose whoever he wants and make a shit tonne of money off of it and now even bonafide MMA legends like Anderson Silva are throwing their names into the hat for a fight with The Notorious.

The Spider says that he wants to test himself against McGregor before he retires because it will be an interesting fight, but probably more likely because he’s nearing the end of his career and wants a massive payday before it. So of course he had to throw some shade on Conor during his interview on the subject by saying he couldn’t remember his name and that he was a dwarf. Sure:
Now that I’m old, I’m beginning to challenge everyone.
I want to beat this dwarf … what’s the boy’s name again? McGregor.
It is not provocation. It’s just that I forget, I’m old. Old men know what it’s like.
I have this urge to test myself against him. I think he’s a guy who has an unusual ability.
I do not know if he would reach a weight of 178 pounds, which is the weight I can get to, but it’s a guy I’d like to test myself before I end my career.

Lol ‘it is not provocation’. Sure, you just forgot the biggest fighter in the UFC at the moment (and probably its history to be fair)’s name when you’ve been angling to fight him. Shut up you old man.
Of course, it’s very likely that the fight might not happen due to weight issues. 178 pounds is 8 pounds heavier than what McGregor fought Nate Diaz at and whereas Diaz is regularly a lightweight, Silva has drifted between light heavyweight and middleweight his entire career.
Nothing is ever impossible when it comes to Conor McGregor though so you never know, and you’ve got to think that he would like the chance to take one of the true legends of the game out as well. Sit tight on this one though, I doubt it’ll happen for a while, if it ever happens at all.
For more Anderson Silva, relive his horrendous leg break right here. Disgusting.
