I’m not sure why someone as polarising as Amy Schumer would ever want to pick an internet fight with the Queen that is Nicole Kidman, but she did it this week after sharing a photo of Kidman at the US Open and captioning it “this is how humans sit”:
Kidman was literally just sitting down and watching the US Open with all the poise of someone who’s been famous for 30+ years and is acutely aware that she’s being photographed everywhere she goes, and for some reason Amy Schumer didn’t like that.
The internet is now unhappy with Schumer for being a ‘mean girl’ and ‘cyberbullying’ Kidman, and boy did they let her know it! So much so that Schumer has since deleted the photo and issued an apology… though it’s not exactly the most sincere apology you’ll ever read:
OK, in fairness, that was a pretty funny reference to the Ashton Kutcher/Mila Kunis drama from yesterday. Still, like I said at the top of this blog: if you go after the Queen you best not miss. Kidman was just minding her business and Schumer decided to go after her for no reason and was instantly swarmed upon and bullied into deleting her Tweet. Kidman didn’t even have to bat eyelid! In fact she’s probably not even aware that any of this happened, but she’s such a legend of the game that the internet came to her defence anyway.
