The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial has dominated the headlines once again this week and now that Amber Heard is giving evidence we’re getting some idea of just how much of a wreckhead Johnny Depp was during their relationship.

During her testimony yesterday, Heard showed the court a bunch of pictures of Depp passed out in his clothes after his frequent drink and drugs benders. She claimed that he would often fall asleep mid sentence and would get so wasted that he had trouble remembering what happened. Heard says that she took the photographs to illustrate to Depp what an absolute mess he was and encourage him to go to rehab.

Here’s what she had to say:

He’d pass out, get sick, lose control of himself. People would pick him up and clean it and fix it.

He wouldn’t either remember, or he would deny it, or he would accuse me of saying that this had happened when it didn’t. And there was no one to back me up.

[It was] just him, his employees, and everyone who had been taking care of him versus my word, and so I started to take pictures [to] say, ‘Look, this is happening’.”

Once we were in Tokyo on the press tour for ‘The Lone Ranger’ with his kids.

He was drinking at the restaurant and the kids were kind of noticing, but not really sure what to make of it… Johnny became upset with me for judging him.

Johnny screamed at me and all I could think was they were in the next hotel room.

He called me a nagging bitch before he passed out again.

Wow. Those photographs do not paint a picture of the stable, coherent, charming guy that Johnny Depp has been trying to portray all the way through the trial whilst he was on the stand do they? I guess if Amber Heard can prove that he would regularly get so wasted that he just passed out on the floor, that it’s not that much of a stretch to argue that he wouldn’t remember a lot of what happened previous to this and may actually have ended up hitting her and abusing her but actually have no memory of it?

It’s certainly something to think about, especially as last week everyone pretty much thought that Depp had the trial all sewn up following his testimony. Really not sure how it’s going to end up going, but I think it’s fairly clear that whatever happens Depp will probably end up winning in the court of popular opinion.
