One of the most revealing aspects of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial has centred on how badly her career has suffered after she published her allegations against Depp, mainly concerning how executives tried to cut her out of ‘Aquaman 2’ and how her role in the movie has now been greatly diminished.

It turns out that the only reason that she was allowed to appear in the movie at was thanks to Aquaman himself Jason Momoa – at least according to the testimony yesterday of former Hollywood film producer Kathryn Arnold. Arnold now works as an entertainment industry consultant and expert and had the following to say about the situation:
The only reason that she kept the role was because Jason Momoa and director James Wan were committed to her and adamant she was in the film.
However, the role should have been her ‘Star Is Born’ moment.
It was that moment where not only was she a good actor, but she was now world-renowned because she was in the most successful film … for DC Comics.
It was just this extraordinary moment for her, for her career to take of.
The first draft of the ‘Aquaman 2’ script had a strong romantic arc and some great action sequences for her character Mera.
When she showed up though, Amber’s role had been radically reduced and her action sequences cut out.
Every time she appears anywhere, the social media negativity campaign starts up again.
She had to fight for her life to stay in the movie and only received the same $2 million salary for her appearance. Momoa renegotiated his fee from $3 million to $15 million.
I estimate that her earning losses were between $45m and $50m due to the negativity surrounding the lawsuit.
She could have been on the same level as Gal Gadot or Zendaya by now.
