It’s been pretty much common knowledge that the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial has not been going well for the last couple of weeks or so – although this is to be expected as Heard is yet to give evidence – but I don’t think any of us truly realised how much this was affecting Amber.

We do now however, as it’s been revealed that she’s fired her entire PR team after several unflattering headlines have been published about her in the last few weeks following some carefully constructed Johnny Depp soundbytes. The New York Post revealed that Heard has parted ways with Precision Strategies on Thursday with their article saying the following:

“She doesn’t like bad headlines,” a source noted.

Another source said Heard, 36, is “frustrated with her story not being told effectively.”

The actress — who is expected to take the stand in Fairfax, Va., as soon as Tuesday — now has consulting firm Shane Communications on retainer to help her get across her side better in the court of public opinion, sources said.

Her new PR team, led by CEO David Shane, has worked against Depp before.

The firm helped highlight allegations lodged by Depp’s former business managers, The Management Group, alleging that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star needed to hire a shrink for his “compulsive spending” habit of $2 million per month.

Still, communications experts told The Post that Heard’s new flacks have an uphill battle ahead of them.

“After years of narrative building, you can’t change the public’s opinion in the three weeks when someone is suing you in a case,” said a crisis management PR insider.

Ex-Pete Buttigieg campaign maven Lis Smith said, “It’s crazy to change teams in the middle of a trial like this because you don’t like the headlines.”

Wow. I’m no expert on these things but it does seem completely nuts that Heard is probably going to come up with a completely new strategy in four or five days with a brand new PR team before she takes the stand this week. Can’t wait to see how they cover that part in the inevitable TV movie, but it’ll be even more interesting to see what goes down when she actually takes the stand this week. Definitely going to be explosive and could be a very real car crash as well. Stay tuned.

For more of the same, check out everything that’s gone down at the trial so far. A whole load of stuff happening.
