Losing your child in a horrific massacre and then having Alex Jones call it a hoax so that your grieving family is stalked, trolled and harassed for years to come sounds like an absolute nightmare experience, so it seems only fair that Alex Jones is now paying for what he put these families through.
And when I say paying, I mean literally – to the tune of nearly $1 BILLION dollars…
Here’s some background on the case:
The lawsuit accused Jones and Infowars’ parent company, Free Speech Systems, of using the [Sandy Hook Elementary School] mass killing to build his audience and make millions of dollars. Experts testified that Jones’ audience swelled when he made Sandy Hook a topic on the show, as did his revenue from product sales.
And a thread from a reporter who was in attendance for the ruling this week in Connecticut:
Breaking: Absolutely astronomical figures in this InfoWars lawsuit out of Connecticut.
Alex Jones owes $229 million to just the first three plaintiffs, all family members of Sandy Hook victims.
There are nine more plaintiffs to go.

The families of the victims were crying in court as the rulings came in…
Naturally, Alex Jones isn’t taking this ruling lightly and is rambling on about it on his show:
Alex Jones is hoping there’s a cap on these damages and is now just mocking the verdict. “Why not make it trillions?”
This is not an amount he can fundraise or sell supplements to get out of.
Even Jones gave up trying to add up damages: “We’ve lost count, it’s in the billions.”

Alex Jones after his billion dollar damages verdict: “They want to scare us away from question Uvalde or Parkland. We’re not going away. We’re not going to stop.”
He’s now selling “vitamineral fusion” from the InfoWars store.

I don’t know how he’s going to manage to cough up $965M for his false claims about Sandy Hook, but it’s hard to feel sorry for the guy when you read about what the families went through (in addition to losing their children) while he got stinking rich off the lies:
Strangers showed up at their homes to record them. People hurled abusive comments on social media. Erica Lafferty, the daughter of slain Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung, testified that people mailed rape threats to her house. Mark Barden told of how conspiracy theorists had urinated on the grave of his 7-year-old son, Daniel, and threatened to dig up the coffin.
Testifying during the trial, Jones acknowledged he had been wrong about Sandy Hook. The shooting was real, he said. But both in the courtroom and on his show, he was defiant.
He called the proceedings a “kangaroo court,” mocked the judge, called the plaintiffs’ lawyer an ambulance chaser and labeled the case an affront to free speech rights.
I guess he’s going to have to sell A LOT of supplements or brain pills or whatever else they sell over at InfoWars to pay all this off. Obviously free speech is important and all but what Alex Jones did goes so far above the grounds of free speech that he deserves everything he gets IMO. Does he even believe half the BS he’s been spewing to braindead Americans all these years?
