We reported earlier today that InfoWars idiot Alex Jones had been ordered by a judge to pay the families of the victims of Sandy Hook around a billion dollars in damages after he went on his dumb show and accused them all of being crisis actors.

This led to many of those grieving parents being stalked and harassed by his followers and Jones is turning to his followers once again to help him with paying these damages. He was actually broadcasting live on InfoWars when the verdict was released and whilst he initially berated the judge and everyone involved in the crisis, he then quickly turned his attention to selling more of his merch so he could fund a counter lawsuit and appeal against the verdict.

Jesus. I always found it strange that so many people worshipped Alex Jones and his false narratives that were clearly formulated in cloud cuckoo land, but I’m amazed that people are still tuning into him and probably spending loads of money on his stupid merch after he full on admitted that he was wrong about Sandy Hook and it was 100% real during the trial. Are people that stupid that they can’t see what he’s doing here? I guess they probably are.
Anyway, hopefully this ruling bankrupts Alex Jones and discourages people from listening to and starting YouTube channels where they pedal dangerous untruths that end up severely harming people. I doubt either of those things are going to happen though – worms like Alex Jones always find a way to slither out of the mess they’ve made and there are so many people down the rabbit hole with QAnon etc that it’s probably only going to descend even further. Great.
For more of the same, check out Alex Jones claiming that he’s sold more books than J.K. Rowling. Maybe he will be able to pay that fine?
