In 2007, retiring news anchor Gloria Campos told the story of Ke’onte Cook, an 8-year-old foster kid looking for a family who then went on to experience a bit of a disappointment in a failed adoption.
Two years later after hearing he’d been moved in and out of a bunch of homes, Campos did another story on him in hopes of finally finding him a permanent family.
It worked, and last week 14-year-old Ke’onte made a surprise visit to the set to pay Campos an emotional thank you.
