Police are closing in on Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, 34, the man accused of throwing a corrosive liquid at a woman and her two young daughters in an attack in Clapham, south London on Wednesday (January 31).

A new CCTV image of the suspect has now also been released, showing Abdul Shokoor Ezedi visiting a Tesco a little over an hour after the incident… with half his face melted off as he casually went about his business:

The last confirmed sighting of Abdul Ezedi was in Tesco on Caledonian Road, N1 at 8.48pm last night. If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately. He should NOT be approached.

Obviously this makes him very distinctive and so it will be easy to spot him around London or wherever he may have got to by this point. It seems that maybe some of the acid he threw at his victims splashed into his own face, or maybe he got into some other type of incident in the hour after he fled the scene.

It’s also been determined that Abdul Shokoor Ezedi is a sex offender who travelled 280 miles for the attack. He was given a suspended sentence back in 2018 for “sexual assault/exposure” and an unpaid work order in Newcastle.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron said: ‘We are now releasing an image of the last known sighting of Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, which was on Caledonian Road, N1 at 8.48pm on Thursday, 31 January. The image is taken from the Tesco store, where Ezedi is believed to have purchased a bottle of water. He left the shop and turned right.’

No word on what the motive behind the attack was, but Ezedi also injured nine others, including police officers, in the “targeted” assault. Hopefully he’ll have been captured by the time you read this. Otherwise, if you see him, you know what to do.
