R) Smallest Rain Forest

Smallest Rainforest - Bukit Nanas - Malaysia

Bukit Nanas is situated in the heart of hi-tech Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The city is now a sprawling metropolis where once there was nothing but jungle. One small area, called Pineapple Hill, in the centre of the city has been kept pristine. This slice of virgin rain forest is just 11 hectares in size (about 100m x 100m) but still houses monkeys, pythons, squirrels, and monitor lizards.

S) Smallest Snowman

Smallest weirdest stuff - Snow Man - Science

Well, it is Christmas folks. Some seasonally charged scientists have busted out the above work of art to help us to get in the spirit. This minute snowman is made of two tiny beads of tin welded together with platinum. So not a snow man per se, but certainly snowman shaped.

They used an ion beam to carve the snowman’s enchanting eyes and wry smile, and to deposit a tiny blob of platinum on his pseudo-frosty face. It was put together by Dr David Cox, a member of the Quantum Detection group at the National Physical Laboratory in West London. Some people may ask the question “why?” and I will answer them thusly: “why the frig not?”

T) Smallest Tortoise

And the prize for smallest tortoise goes to the Speckled padloper. They live in South Africa and Southern Namibia and a fully grown one’s shell is only about 6-8 cm in length. So I think the one in the picture must be a baby one, pretty nice pic though hey?
