Absolute chaos on the Elizabeth Line on London’s Underground yesterday evening after a powercut resulted in passengers being trapped on board the tube carriage in pitch blackness for four hours, with no idea what was going on as even the driver had little intel to share.
Unfortunately, an opportunistic creep aboard the train saw this as the perfect chance to get groping, with police confirming that there had been ‘a few incidents’ during the blackout, with one person arrested on suspicion of sexual touching.
A police officer confirmed that the process of getting everyone off the train had been delayed ‘because someone decided that they wanted to touch someone up’.
In a clip shared to Twitter/X, the officer told frustrated passengers: ‘We haven’t just left you, I appreciate that’s… unfortunately we’ve had a few incidents. We’ve had one arrest for sexual touching and things like that. So things have taken longer than possibly what they should have done because someone decided that they wanted to touch someone up.’
Well, fair enough really.
The passenger who shared the video, Jacek Broniszewski, added: ‘Stuck on an Elizabeth line train for three hours, we were promised “buses and taxis”. All seemed like official protocol. After finally being let out, turned out there was no transport provided and we were stranded alone. Quite the mess. Also told of arrests for “sexual touching”.’
Really is troubling to think that some sexual predator couldn’t contain themselves for a few hours when ‘gifted’ an opportunity to grope someone who’s trapped on the tube with them in the dark. The police officer mentioned ‘a few incidents’, so who knows what else went down? There really is no escape from these weirdos.
