It’s Halloween, the spookiest day of the year. Traditionally Halloween is mainly concerned with zombies, spooks, vampires and maybe a mummy or something, but these days most people find stuff like serial killers and sexual weirdoes and Jimmy Savile way more scarier than those stupid things that don’t exist, or if they do exist all they do is go bump in the night before they stop bothering you for another year. This video was made to highlight this fact. Although it came out a year ago it’s really spooky/scary and I completely missed it so I don’t think there’s any harm in featuring it today.
All you do is head over to takethislollipop.com and allow it to connect to your Facebook account. You do this almost every day – there are 1000’s of apps that you have to allow access to your Facebook details to get them to work, whether it’s through leaving a message on a website like Sick Chirpse or playing one of those stupid games like Farmville or one of those dumb quizzes which tells you which character in The Wire you’re most like (I was obviously McNulty), they all require you to give them access to your Facebook profile and you might not be aware just what information you’re handing over. This video helps you to recognise this. If you don’t want any spoilers stop reading now and just click on the link I posted above.

If you’re reading on then this is what happens: the video makes it all too clear how much information you are actually sharing by allowing these apps to access your profile as some gross psycho drools over your profile, examining your pictures and touching them and looking like he might jerk off over them. He then figures out where you’re living on a map and starts driving to yours with a picture of you on his dashboard, to do God knows what to you, but it probably involves sodomization. The psycho is really creepy and gross and has a definite Saw vibe to him (doesn’t Halloween completely suck since they stopped making Saw movies BTW?) that the movie itself does actually become unsettling, especially as it ends and it tells you that one of your friends on Facebook is NEXT. Eek.
If you don’t want to share your information with Take This Lollipop then check out this movie below, but it’s a lot more fun if you do it yourself because it’s personalised to you and the audio quality is a lot better/scarier. Also the guy in this video has a bunch of completely lame photographs which makes it a bit less scary.
