The last thing anyone wants when buying their Easter lamb in ASDA is to be berated by a group of vegan activists over it. Still, you’d hope it was something the store manager or the police could deal with, rather than an angry customer completely snapping on them.
Over in Canterbury, Kent, this man literally took matters into his own hands by smashing a vegan activist group’s megaphone as they staged their protest at the supermarket:
Comments under the IG video seem to be in full support of the man, including one that says: “Felt sorry for her for a millisecond then I seen she was a vegan protestor, no sympathy.” Classic.
On the other hand, some argue that this is a relatively fair and uncontroversial way of staging a protest. After all, it’s not like these vegans are blocking traffic or throwing cans of baked beans over expensive paintings in museums. Nobody’s being harmed and there’s no destruction of property, they’re just being incredibly annoying, that’s all.
At the end of the day though, no one wants to be lectured and yelled at through a megaphone while doing their supermarket shopping, so I’ve got no idea why ASDA would allow these activists to do their thing inside the store in the first place. After all, it’s private property. They’ve got every right to move them out and onto the street where they can preach into their megaphone all they like. Otherwise it’s only ever a matter of time before someone loses the plot on them. Lesson learned.
