We’re now just a week away from Chris Eubank Jr taking on Connor Benn at a sold-out Wembley Stadium on April 26, and it probably won’t help the former to have his dad brand him a ‘disgrace’ so close to the showdown.
Chris Eubank Snr told Seconds Out that he doesn’t want anything to do with his son’s career after seeing his behaviour in the lead-up to this fight:
Chris Eubank Jr’s father called him a “disgrace” and said he’ll never be in his corner 😳

“I won’t be an accomplice to their stupidity, to their circus. Junior, you are smashing an egg against this guy’s face.
“I taught you that? I didn’t teach you that. Who taught you that? Did Karron (his mother) teach you that? That’s disgraceful.
“You think I am going to stand in your corner? You must be mad. I would never be in your corner, you are a disgrace.
”You are smashing an egg in someone’s face and then you are trying to justify it. There is no justification for that. There is nothing noble about that.”
Wow, that’s cold. I know Chris Eubank Snr is a complex guy who’s had a lot of demons he has had to deal with over the years, but not supporting your son in the biggest fight of his career? Actively trashing him in an interview just a week before it? Seems a bit harsh really.
In case you missed it, here’s the egg incident that Eubank is referring to:

Obviously there’s a lot more going on between father and son than just Snr’s disapproval of him smashing an egg in his arch nemesis’s face, with Eubank Jr publicly calling on his father last October to the hatchet on their long-running feud ahead of the mega-fight at Wembley. Doesn’t seem like that will be happening any time soon.
