The drill rapper who served 14 years in jail for the murder of London schoolboy Jimmy Mizen has been recalled to prison for breaching his license conditions, which I guess included not making rap songs where he boasted about the murder and proving he feels no remorse for his actions whatsoever.

Jake Fahri was 19 when he was given a life sentence in 2009 for killing Jimmy Mizen by throwing a glass dish at him (pictured below), which shattered and severed blood vessels in the 16-year-old’s neck at a south London bakery.

Upon his release from prison in 2023, Jake Fahri, now 35, embarked on a rap career where he donned a mask and went under the moniker TEN. He somehow managed to get his music played on BBC Radio 1Xtra, with presenter DJ Theo Johnson saying he “really stands out.” Which he doesn’t, btw, but I guess that’s subjective.

In a couple of TEN’s tracks, he appeared to reference the Jimmy Mizen killing with the following lyrics:

‘Stuck it on a man and watched him melt like Ben and Jerry’s. Sharpen up my blade I’ve got to keep those necessary. Stay alert and kept it ready, any corner could be deadly. Judge took a look at me, before the trial even started he already knows he’s gonna throw the book at me.’

Balaclava-clad rapper Jake Fahri, known as TEN, can today be unmasked as the murderer of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen

‘See a man’s soul fly from his eyes and his breath gone… I wanted more, it made it less wrong. Seeing blood spilled same floor he was left on.’

The BBC had no idea that TEN was  the killer of Jimmy Mizen, so I imagine there was a bit of a freak-out at their HQ after The Sun revealed the news. In fairness, they didn’t play the tracks that include the aforementioned lyrics, but it’s still not a great look for them. They have now said that they have “no further plans to play his music.”

Anyway, the good news is that today (Friday 17 January), the Probation Service said Fahri had been recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions.

A Probation Service spokesperson said:

“Our thoughts are with Jimmy Mizen’s family who deserve better than to see their son’s murderer shamelessly boasting about his violent crime.

“All offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions. As this case shows, we will recall them to prison if they break the rules.”

Jimmy Mizen who had just turned 16, was stabbed to death outside the Three Cooks bakery, Lee, SE London - AN ALTAR boy died following a vicious daylight attack in a suburban bakery yesterday, the day after celebrating his 16th birthday. Jimmy Mizen died in his brother's arms, after sustaining horrific neck wounds during the apparently unprovoked assault. It is understood the rugby-loving teenager was hit in the neck with a shard of glass when a fight broke out in the shop in Lee, South- East London, which he was visiting on the way to buy his first National Lottery ticket.

RIP Jimmy Mizen, and RIP TEN’s rap career. It sure was stupid to immediately start making music where he glamorised what he did, and to also incite other young people to do the same. The terms of his release were probably hinging on his remorse for the killing, understanding the effect on his victim’s family and the community, but any claim he may have made to that effect was completely destroyed by the lyrics he wrote and performed.

No idea how long Fahri will remain in prison for this time, but if you’re not rehabilitated after a life sentence, what hope is there for you really?
