Maya Henry Reacts To Liam Payne’s Death After She Called In Lawyers Due To His ‘Obsessive Contact’

Liam Payne’s ex-fiancée is in a particularly brutal position at the moment, having been in the process of taking legal action against the former One Directioner prior to his death at the age of 31 this week.

Naturally, One Direction fans have now been bombarding the 23-year-old model with abuse, as though it’s her fault that Liam Payne took a bunch of drugs and fell from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

Maya Henry had issued a cease and desist letter to Payne and made accusations that he has been ceaselessly contacting her, using different iCloud accounts to continue to reach out. Henry had also alleged that Payne had repeatedly contacted her friends and family including her mother Azteca Henry, and was essentially harassing and stalking her.

Now, representatives for Henry told the Daily Mail that the model ‘is understandably in shock.’

Earlier this week, just days prior to Liam Payne’s death, Maya Henry had discussed his alleged behaviour toward her in a TikTok video, telling her 650k followers:

‘Ever since we broke up he messages me, will blow up my phone, not only from his phone, it’s always from different phone numbers too, so I never know where it’s gonna come from.

‘He’ll create new iCloud accounts to message me – it’s always a new damn iCloud account. Every time I see one pop up on my phone I’m like, “here we f***ing go again.”

‘Also, he will email me… not only me, but he’ll blow up my mom’s phone. Is this normal behaviour to you?’

No, it does not seem like normal behaviour, but clearly we were dealing with a very troubled young man who ultimately snapped in the worst way possible, for whatever multitude of reasons.

Lawyers for Henry told Metro earlier this week:

‘Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information. She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter.’

Well, I guess Maya Henry won’t be needing those lawyers anymore.

Payne and Henry had a rocky on-and-off relationship for three years before splitting for good in 2022. Since then, Liam had been dating influencer Kate Cassidy, while Maya has been working on her novel Looking Forward – which is about dating a popstar. Bit too on the nose really, and certainly lends to the abuse she’s receiving from One Direction fans at the moment.

Henry also claimed in her recent TikTok that there is plenty about the popstar that the public doesn’t know, saying:

‘Everything gets swept under the rug, everything gets hidden for him. I don’t know who is behind all this but nothing ever comes out about him. ‘He’s the one that is constantly doing weird sh*t, and also might I add, he literally said the reason he has all these people on his damn Snapchat, which he has had for years apparently, and messages, is he preys on One Direction fans because they’re loyal to him.’

Awkward to say the least. I’ve got a feeling Maya Henry will be laying low for a while, and potentially put her novel about definitely-not-Liam-Payne on hold for a while. Probably for the best.
