Very sad news today as it’s being reported that Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock – whose real name is Seth Binzer – has been found dead at his home in Los Angeles aged 49.

According to the LA medical examiner, no cause of death has been given, but the musician had famously struggled with drug addiction, and even appeared in the reality TV shows Celebrity Rehab and Sober House.

Crazy Town were the epitome of a one hit wonder with 2000s smash ‘Butterly’ – seriously, they never even had one other song break the Top 100. But what an absolute gem that song was:

What a classic. ‘Butterly’ had everything – a trashy 00s sound, Red Hot Chili Peppers sample, a guy named Shifty Shellshock rapping, a shoutout to Sid & Nancy, and one of the catchiest song choruses of all time. I really don’t think there’s a millennial on the planet that wasn’t in love with this song when it first came out, and hopefully we continue to embarrass all future generations when this song comes on randomly at social functions for the rest of time.

RIP Shifty Shellshock and thoughts with his friends, fans and family…
