Another day, another couple of high school teachers trying to sh@g their students – this time over in Joseph Craig High School in Janesville, Wisconsin.

The two teachers, Alexsia Saldaris and Jennifer Larson, have quit their jobs after being caught trying to seduce one of their students by offering him a foursome on a school trip. Which would have undoubtedly made the lad a legend in the eyes of his peers, but also a victim in the eyes of the law.

One of the teachers, Alexsia Saldaris, had even sent explicit images of herself in lingerie to the student, which she admitted. Meanwhile, Jennifer Larson got done for also sending ‘inappropriate messages’ to the male teenage student.

Saldaris also confessed to sending messages about “cuddling, flirting, and the implication of alcohol”, and asked the student to select one of his buddies to join in on a foursome.

Worse still, Saldaris once gave the student the keys to a van and allowed him to “take a lap” of a car park, before sharing a “half kiss” in the back of the vehicle with him (whatever that means).

Of course, this sort of thing is impossible to keep secret in a school full of gossipy teenagers, and soon enough the lad was going around showing photos of Ms Saldaris in her lingerie to his mates (while they all volunteered to be part of the foursome, I’m sure). Eventually, another teacher caught wind of a group of boys giggling while huddled around a phone and when they took a closer look, was able to report to administrators that they were “95% sure” the image was of Saldaris in lingerie. Busted!

Both teachers were placed on administrative leave but took the opportunity to resign instead. The Janesville Police Department is now running its own investigation to see if the women broke any laws, and should be prosecuted.

All jokes aside, it does seem like this sort of thing is happening way too often, and especially more so with female teachers and teenage boys. Although I guess maybe it always happened and now we just live in a time where they’re prosecuted and the media covers it.

There’s always going to be a debate over whether a female teacher hooking up with a male student is in any way “different” than a male teacher doing the same thing with a female student, but at the end of the day both are adults abusing their positions and the trust that the schools, kids and parents put in them. In any case, there’s simply no getting away with this sort of thing in 2024 – this story is yet another example.
