Tragic case of ‘keeping it real gone wrong’ this week as teenage rapper Rylo Hunch has died after accidentally shooting himself in the head during an Instagram Live where he was showing off to his followers about having a gun with a green laser light on it.
The rapper, 17, was found dead in Suffolk, Virginia, with police saying that they believe he died by an “accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound” to the head.
We obviously aren’t going to share the footage on this page, but it’s easy enough to find (if you want to see that sort of thing), with Rylo’s last words before pulling the trigger as follows:
“B*tch look I got dat 30 on dat b*tch n****, ya, f*** y’all n******”
The rapper appeared to switch off the gun’s safety and point it at his head, when a gunshot rang out and and he was thrown from view as the camera fell. Here a still image from the moment before he pulled the trigger:
Just such a sad, sad story. Don’t get me wrong, it’s entirely his fault for playing around with a loaded weapon, but nonetheless, it doesn’t make it any less sad that a young man has lost his life in such needless and ridiculous circumstances.
You have to feel for his friends and family, too. Not only have they lost a son/nephew/sibling/etc, but also have to deal with the fact that there’s a video of it circulating on the internet, where it will remain for the rest of time.
A GoFundMe has since been set up by Huncho’s grieving family:
At the very least, we can hope that the story of Rylo Huncho serves as a lesson to other young people that guns are not toys. RIP.
