Cher is always catching flak for dating men in their thirties, but she’s just come up with the perfect explanation as to why she has no choice but to date men 40 years younger than her – all the men her age are ‘dead.’

The 77-year-old pop legend said in a recent interview:

“The reason I get with young men is because men my age or older — well, now they’re all dead. Before, [men my age] just never, they were always terrified to approach me, and younger men were the only ones that would. [They were] raised by women like me.”

In recent years, Cher has been getting stick over her relationship with 37-year-old Def Jam executive Alexander “AE” Edwards. Here’s what she has to say to the haters and losers about that:

Fair enough really. If you’re 77-year-old Cher and you’ve got the option of shagging men in their 20s and 30s rather than spending the rest of your days becoming some old man’s nurse, it’s a no-brainer really. Sounds like we’re all in with chance!

At the end of the day, Cher is just a 77-year-old lady living her best life, and the general consensus in the media is ‘more power to her’! Although it’s interesting that they don’t adopt that same attitude for Leo DiCaprio and all the younger women he chooses to date.
