Ewan McGregor Had To Have An ‘Intimacy Coach’ On Set While He Filmed A Sex Scene With His Wife

Following the #MeToo movement, Hollywood introduced mandatory ‘intimacy coaches’ on the sets of their films in order to protect actresses and keep everything above board during sex scenes. Overall you’d say that’s a good thing, but apparently it was also necessary to have one present when Ewan McGregor was filming sex scenes with his own wife recently.

Despite being married for nearly two years and in a relationship since 2017, Ewan McGregor, 52, and wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 39, were required to have an intimacy coach guide them through their sex scenes in upcoming series ‘A Gentleman in Moscow.’

Despite how ludicrous that sounds, it seems Ewan McGregor is fully accepting of the circumstances: “It’s an important part of the work now, because it’s somebody that the director and actors meet in the middle.’

We all know that Ewan McGregor is an absolute legend of the game who’s been great in everything he’s been in from Star Wars to Trainspotting to Fargo (where he met Winstead on set, while they were both still married to other people). So it’s a shame that he can’t even be trusted to film a sex scene with his own wife on set without adult supervision to make sure he’s not doing anything untoward that could get him #MeToo’d by the woman he’s married to.

The idea that someone with a job that didn’t even exist until a couple years ago is standing there and making sure elite actor Ewan McGregor is simulating sex with his own wife properly is just preposterous, but I guess that’s the world these Hollywood sleazebags created because they kept sexually abusing/harassing actresses.

Still, fair play to Ewan McGregor for not making a fuss about it. After such a long and epic career, he probably doesn’t enjoy being over-directed while pretending to have sex with an actress (much less his life), but he gets on with it anyway because he’s a professional. Besides, it probably warms him up for the real thing after a long day of being coached through having sex with his wife. I guess we could all use some pointers…
