The First Picture Of Sam Bankman-Fried In Jail Has Leaked

Quick recap: Sam Bankman-Fried is the former FTX CEO facing up to 115 years in prison for losing an absolute f*** ton (billions and billions) of people’s money on the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange. He basically got done for fraud and money-laundering after the new CEO who was brought in to clean up the mess said “never in my career have I seen such a complete failure of corporate controls and such a complete absence of trustworthy financial information as occurred here.”

Sam Bankman-Fried has been in jail since December 2022, and won’t be sentenced till March 2024. But amazingly, it’s taken until this week for a photo of him in prison to leak, and I gotta say, he’s looking kinda gangsta in it…?

Genuinely, he looks right at home there alongside the homies. I’m not sure why the guy to his right isn’t blurred out like the rest (maybe that’s his cell husband?) but I imagine Bankman-Fried is doing everyone’s accounting Andy Dufresne-style and that’s why he gets to roll with these dudes. Now all he has to do is put on some muscle and if he keeps at it for the next 100 years (or however long he’ll end up getting), he’ll be walking around the prison looking like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, commanding respect everywhere he goes.

Then again, it may not actually be a good idea to have Sam Bankman-Fried do your taxes, prisoner or not. No one needs an accountant who’s likely to be audited every year for the rest of their lives, do they?

P.S. Just found out a journalist named Tiffany Fong is the one who leaked the photo, and the reason she left that other dude’s face unblurred is because she was interviewing him. His name is G Lock and he’s an ex-Blood member. Fairs:

Sounds like a pleasant guy, so good to see Sam Bankman-Fried cosying up to the right people in prison, despite being responsible for billions of dollars in fraud. According to G Loc, Sam is a “gangster” and a “real n****” who “don’t snitch on nobody”. That’s the spirit! I’ve got a feeling he’ll be just fine.
