Following that absolute calamity with the Florida police earlier today, it feels good to bring you this footage from Southwark in London, where a large crew of off-duty policemen happened to be nearby when some thug started attacking someone with a knife:
A knife-wielding man has been jailed after a group of off-duty officers rushed to intervene as he attacked another man in #Southwark
Shocking footage demonstrates “the heroism shown by these officers is nothing short of exceptional” as they separate the attacker from the victim. pic.twitter.com/1YHV35Wqkr

Amazing job by everyone involved. Yeah I know it was effectively 10-on-1 but at the end of the day, they were off-duty, in their civilian clothes, with no protective equipment, and still bravely rushed the scene to rescue the victim and apprehend the stabby young man. How gutted must he have felt!
According to the Met’s website, the officers from the Gangs & Pro-Active Team in the Central South Command Unit were out socialising after work together at a bar in Elephant Park, SE17 when they noticed the commotion nearby.
Officers swiftly seperated the pair and arrested the attacker while administering first aid to the victim, who was taken to hospital for a head injury. In the end, they might’ve saved his life, and definitely prevented him from sustaining more serious injuries.
Joseph Jimenez, 20, was sentenced to eight month’s imprisonment for possession of a bladed article and four months’ imprisonment for affray (running concurrently). I guess that’s as good a sentence as you can hope for for a knife attack in London these days.
