The rumours of sex and drugs-fuelled parties and orgies involving the original Gladiators cast in the 90s are well-documented, but one person who apparently wasn’t involved was Cobra AKA Michael Wilson, who has now warned the new cast of Gladiators to steer clear of that sort of thing.
In fact, despite Ulrika Johnson spilling the beans on Gladiators orgies years ago, Cobra claims they “never happened” and that Ulrika is basically lying.
Cobra says: “There was a 100-person crew, 36 Gladiators on and off, so a total of 150 people, so of course, with people in any company there are going to be some that get off with one another. But most of us were knackered because you sometimes do three shows in a day. You warm up for an event and it’s delayed.”
“Warm up again. And you’re at it, bang, and I can’t talk for the others but… Then it’s midnight back at the hotel and time to sleep. We sometimes used to go down and play pool and drink beer with the crew but that was about it.”
“Ulrika said something about orgies, but how she could make three stories up? I don’t know… If there were orgies, why wasn’t I invited? What’s wrong with me?”
“But there weren’t any orgies, I don’t know how I could miss orgies when we are all on the same floor more or less. We had security guards there making sure that there weren’t naughty women coming on our floor or naughty boys. It’s just rubbish. Yeah, it’s beyond me. She had a little romance with Rhino and Hunter, but I didn’t see anything, I’m telling the truth, I didn’t see or hear anything.”
As for whether he thinks the current crop of Gladiators will be more orgy-friendly, Cobra advised: “Keep it in your trousers, you will have the girls and boys throwing themselves at you, just don’t bite on it.”
I know he’s joking there about not being invited to the orgies, but I genuinely think that might have been the case and the rest of the Gladiators managed to keep the whole thing hidden from him because he’s a wet wipe who would grass them up to the producers or something.
Then again, could be he was just trying to avoid being emasculated by the raw sexual prowess of Wolf during said orgies. Wouldn’t blame him, if that was the case.
Speaking of Wolf, he’s not happy with the BBC after his son’s application for the reboot was rejected by bosses. Real missed opportunity there.
