If someone were to say to me, “Yo, what do you think would be the greatest film of the 90s that could be turned into a awesome tongue-in-cheek theatre production?”, I’d say, “Point Break.”
However, if someone were to say to me, “Yo, what what do you think would be the second greatest film of the 90s that could be turned into a awesome tongue-in-cheek theatre production?”, I’d say, “Unequivocally Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster monster smash, Jurassic Park.” Well, guess what? It’s been made and it looks just magical.
The team behind it, The Old Murder House Theatre, prior to their staging of Jurassic Park made ‘Aliens on Ice’ which garnered a cult following.

Because of this, the team loaded up their proposal for the JP project onto the website Kickstarter.com and hoped for the best. For those who don’t know, Kickstarter is an amazing website idea whereby financiers can donate money to a creative cause if they they think the concept is good enough. Luckily, the notion of Jurassic Park Live whet the appetite of many and it managed to raised over 21,000 bucks.
So without further ado, I present to you, perhaps the greatest looking stage-adapation of a film the world has ever seen. Hold on to your butts:
