A University of Miami student who called himself ‘MXB’ on campus is facing charges after conducting a $3.5 million fraud scheme against a major shipping company, the proceeds of which he used to flex on his fellow students with a $41,000 Rolex, an electric skateboard, and a massive OLED TV. He also whisked his uni girlfriend away on trips to Dubai.

Matthew Frederic Bergwall, 21, had “unauthorized access” to accounts belonging to a “multi-national shipping, receiving, and supply chain management company,” where he’d enter fake tracking info for goods, claim they didn’t arrive, and get the refund. He did this with over 10,000 fake orders before he got clocked:

I’m just imagining this guy walking around a university campus with a $41,000 watch on and riding his high-end electric skateboard, just letting everyone know that The MXB is in town. He even managed to pull a girl that was way out of his league until ultimately getting caught because he was too greedy. Probably didn’t even bother to pay off his student loads, and now it’s too late because he’s got bigger things to worry about like spending 45 years in prison.

Then again, he might already be rich enough to get the slap on the wrist treatment, we’ll have to see how that goes. Meanwhile, his girlfriend is probably heading back to Dubai with some other sketchy millionaire as we speak. Swings and roundabouts.
