Almost thirty years after Tupac was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in 1996, Las Vegas police have finally arrested a man in connection with the murder.
Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis was arrested this morning (Friday 29th), but the charges he faces have not been made public. Davis has actually been known to authorities for years and even admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was in the Cadillac when the shots were fired in Tupac’s direction. So it will be interesting to find out what evidence police were able to gather all these years later, that they could use for a conviction in court.
Notably, David is the uncle of Orlando Anderson, who was one of Tupac’s arch rivals. I guess this also squashes any last hope of the Tupac is alive rumours being true, although maybe he’s playing 3D chess with us at this point. Either way, it’s reassuring any time a murder can be solved 27 years after it happened, and especially one involving one of the legends of the rap game. Great work by everyone involved!
This story is just breaking, so more to follow I’m sure. In the meantime, never forget:
