Quentin Tarantino reportedly wants to give Bruce Willis his final film role, despite the Die Hard legend retiring last year after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that causes difficulty with language and speech.

Even still, Tarantino is trying to cast Willis in a small role for what will be his tenth and final film, The Movie Critic. Which sounds like a much better movie to go out on than Assassin or Vendetta or the other budget movies Willis has starred in these last few years.

Aside from aphasia, 67-year-old Willis has also been diagnosed with fronotemporal dementia, which “causes problems with behaviour and language”.

Of course, Tarantino and Willis worked together before on 1994’s Pulp Fiction, which is arguably one of the best movies ever made. Could they reunite 30 years later for what will be both men’s Hollywood swansongs?

A production source told The Express:

“Quentin hasn’t approached Bruce’s family yet – and will completely bow to their wishes if they say he’s too sick.

If that’s the case, he aims to try to work a brief clip from one of Bruce’s many previous movies into the film.

Quentin wants to pay tribute to him with a quick glimpse for his legion of fans back on the big screen where he belongs.”

Sounds like it’s going to happen either way, with real life Bruce or with CGI Bruce. Considering his complete withdrawal from the public eye in the last year, you have to think that Willis’s condition isn’t great and so it might be too much of an ask to expect the guy to actually turn up on set for any kind of role, even a cameo.

Wonderful gesture from Tarantino, all the same. Sounds like he just wants to give Bruce Willis a big sendoff rather than exploit him, given that this film is guaranteed to be a massive success either way. Never forget:
