A Japanese man who spent £12,480 to transform himself into a dog has been left disheartened by the reaction online, which basically seems to be everyone calling him a weirdo, mentally ill, and other unkind things.
The man/dog, known only as ‘Toco’, doesn’t understand why people can’t just be happy for him fulfilling his dream of becoming a collie. Here’s the viral footage of Toco on his first-ever walk:
And some of the comments that followed:
Toco, who won’t even tell anyone his real name because, I guess, he expected this sort of reaction, told the NY Post:
“I’m just sad that people can think that.
I love animals and enjoy play-acting like a collie. This is my hobby, so I will carry on.
It makes me happy and other people happy, too.”
Well, I guess you can’t argue with that really. The guy is so dedicated to living the collie life that he blew £12,000+ on a custom made costume. Have to admit, they did a pretty great job on it too. The attention to detail is spectacular! You would actually be convinced you were looking at a real dog from a distance.
He’s also racked up over 40k subscribers on YouTube and the video above has over 5 million views, so he’s probably made that £12k back already, with change!
Give it a couple years and Toco will probably be competing at the Westminster Dog Show with the biological dogs. Progressive…
