There have been a whole load of murders all over the UK widely reported in the last week, but surprisingly this one isn’t going down on our wretched island but instead in the city of Love itself Paris. Kinda fitting when it’s Valentine’s Day?

In all seriousness I shouldn’t joke about that though as this sounds like a particularly grim murder and that’s why it’s making international news. A woman’s head was found in a remote wooded area popular with families and joggers in the Buttes-Chaumont Park yesterday, one of the French capital’s largest green spaces in the northeast part of the city.
The woman’s lower torso – at least we’re assuming it’s the same woman, that hasn’t been confirmed yet – was also found blood soaked in a bag underneath the head. Various other body parts have also been discovered in plastic bags strewn around the park too after a search was called and what’s more they’re not in a state of putrefeacton, which implies that the murder took place very recently.
The body has yet to be identified but police have reported that she was wearing blue jeans with a flower pattern decorating her thigh area and that she’s either ‘North African’ or ‘European’ which doesn’t exactly narrow it down. Still early days yet I suppose.
I imagine there will be more details to come but this is a majorly messed up crime don’t you think? I’m sure this kind of stuff probably happens more than we think but hearing about someone’s body being cut up and left in different parts of a park is taking me back to that Luka Magnotta ‘Don’t F*ck With Cats’ guy who carved up that guy’s body and sent him to government officials. This could easily turn out to be a murder case that ends up as notorious as that one. We’ll keep you posted.
