Cardi B may have pocketed $1 million by performing half-naked in a banker’s garden a few weeks back, but that doesn’t mean she’s not as vexed as the rest of us about the cost of living these days.

Where Cardi B lives, lettuce apparently costs $6. Six dollars! She Tweeted her disdain at this and then followed up with a video rant at the people having a go at her for being rich and complaining about the cost of lettuce:

I mean, not exactly eloquently put, but not wrong either. It’s not a bad thing for celebrities to get vocal about these issues, even if they may not have the faintest idea about capitalism, supply and demand, and inflation.

Cardi B also (inadvertently?) gave some excellent financial tips to all us common folk during her sweary video rant. She says she receives a breakdown of every dollar that leaves her bank account(s) every week, and that’s something we could all do to save money. Trust me, it’s staggering when you realise how much you spend exactly on delivery fees, monthly subscriptions and takeways. Cardi B is on point to tell people they can break down their expenditure and see where they’re losing money every month.

Also, as she says, the $6 lettuce may not be a problem for a multi-millionaire like her, but it does hurt everyone else, many of who are potential concert-goers and buyers of her music. How is Cardi B supposed to stay rich if all her fans from the hood and middle class don’t spend their $$$ on her?

Not sure about her final point that companies will have to answer to her re the price of goods but at least she’s making an effort. Go Cardi Go! Now hit it:
