I don’t think that anyone is disputing that Nicolas Cage is a bit of a weirdo at this point after several hundred minutes of unhinged performances in most of our movies, but I doubt any of us had ever sincerely considered that he might be an alien.

I had trouble relating to people and was very socially awkward when I was younger.

My father told me he felt like he had to introduce himself to me because I was such an alien.

I was shocked the day I went to the doctor’s office as a child and I found out that I had normal organs and a normal skeleton because I was certain I was from another planet.

I had difficulties connecting with other people. When I saw David Bowie in The Man Who Fell to Earth, I realised I needed to do something. So I became an actor.

Wow. I guess it’s true that a lot of people have trouble finding out where they fit in when they’re growing up but that’s quite an extreme reaction from Cage isn’t it? Good old David Bowie coming in to save the day for all the freaks out there again though. I think we really do have more to thank him for than we’ll ever now.
