What is it with Americans trying to push their race issues onto the rest of us? Of course not everyone’s happy about Rishi Sunak becoming PM, but that has more to do with his political associations, rather than the colour of his skin.
Over in the States, Trevor Noah’s trying to spin the narrative that there’s a ‘racist backlash’ to Rishi Sunak becoming PM, purely due to him being of Indian descent:

Has any British person reading heard a single person say that “the Indians are taking over”? Where is Trevor Noah getting this from? Pretty irresponsible stuff given millions of people watch Noah on The Daily Show and have now got the completely wrong idea.
Many Brits, including Sajid Javid, have taken to social media to tell Noah how wrong he is:
Simply wrong. A narrative catered to his audience, at a cost of being completely detached from reality.
Britain is the most successful multiracial democracy on earth and proud of this historic achievement. https://t.co/D6k8IUZx0I

There has been almost no backlash. That’s the amazing thing.

I love @Trevornoah but this is not true by any stretch of the imagination. Across the broad spectrum of British society people are genuinely proud that a person of South Asian descent is PM. Also, he is not PM of ‘England’ but of the United Kingdom.

I know Americans can’t view anything in this world without the lens of racism but f-ck me, don’t try and invent it in our politics when there’s so many genuine examples you could talk about instead. Will The Daily Show issue a correction on this? Probably not.
Meanwhile, guess who Trevor Noah’s reportedly dating? Lucky bugger.
