We’ve heard of some unusual domestic disputes over the years, but this woman’s behaviour here has to be some of the worst committed in quite some time.

61 year old Sharon Taylor vowed to destroy her husband David’s life after he moved out of their shared house in Malvern, Worcestershire after she admitted that she had been having an affair. Despite this, she still bombarded him with text messages demanding that he carry out his household chores and when he refused, she went to the boss of the post office where he worked and claimed that he had been raping her regularly whilst they were still living together. She even threatened to go to the police if David did not quit his job there.
Judge Martin Jackson said the following:
False allegations of rape are extremely unsettling.
Threatening to make an allegation that is untrue is a very serious matter.
It’s a sad case and I do recognise that the offence had been committed when Taylor was in emotional turmoil.
Taylor was found guilty of stalking and blackmail charges and handed a sentence of two years and three months, suspended for two years. She was also ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation and given a restraining order banning her from contacting her husband.
All I can say about that is good. Accusing someone of rape when they’ve done nothing of the sort is one of the worst situations that can happen to someone as it can totally ruin their life and is a stigma that they might never escape from. It also – and perhaps more importantly – discourages actual rape victims from coming forward over fears that they won’t be believed and devalues their experience. Just terrible behaviour all around for multiple reasons.
It’s not really a justification for her behaviour that this woman was in emotional turmoil because her husband had left their marriage after her affair either. The situation that she’s found herself in is all of her own doing. Can’t have your cake and eat it. People that psychopathic and manipulative need to be exposed and hopefully this judgment will discourage other people from doing the same.
