Ever since taking over as presenter of ‘Good Morning Britain’ from Piers Morgan last year, Richard Madeley has made a number of high profile gaffes as his unique, tone death form of questioning can often leave a lot to be desired.

I think it’s going to take a lot to top this one though, as he asked a grieving Sandy Hook father about whether or not he had experienced any revenge fantasies against Alex Jones for peddling conspiracy theories and encouraging harassment in the wake of the massacre. Fortunately Robbie Parker was able to answer the question and put Richard Madeley in his place without making the situation too awkward or getting aggressive or anything, but honestly what a ridiculous question to ask someone on breakfast television.
Check out the footage below:
Madeley: ‘From one father to another, I know that I would be unable to control revenge fantasies going way beyond damages in a court of law. How do you cope with them because you must have them?’
Parker: ‘Yeah, I’m a human being where my mind can wander into those places but those are the same realms that Alex Jones and Alex Jones’ listeners go into so I really try not to spend so much time there.
I try and focus on what’s best for my family and our healing and really get back to just focusing on our grief and just being someone who can actually bring a lot of good in this world.
‘Emilie’s life touched so many people and only brought love and joy and goodness and as her parents we want to continue that, and that’s what we’re going to do.’
Oh my god Richard Madeley is awful. Asking a poor bereaved dad what revenge fantasies he had?! Luckily the dad put him in his place. #GMB

Yeah I gotta say that’s a really weird question for Madeley to ask, especially so early in the morning on a national TV show? Maybe if they were really good friends and were really wasted at 3am it might be a good time to bring it up, but other than that I really don’t think it’s appropriate. Thankfully Parker didn’t go off the handle or anything, but you could see something like that tip him over the edge. ITV probably need to get Madeley some sensitivity training or better yet just get rid of him. Jesus.
For more of the same, check out Richard Madeley making a really creepy comment when interviewing the lionesses after their European Championship win. Such a strange character.
