The rumours have been swirling around for a while ever since Mark Hoppus revealed he had been undergoing treatment for Stage Four cancer, but with Hoppus having been given the all clear a while ago, Blink 182 have today announced that they’ve recorded a new record with original guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge and will be heading out on a world tour next year.

The news came courtesy of a typically juvenile video which also featured a short clip of new single ‘Edging’ that will be released this Friday October 14th. Take a look at it below:
We’re coming. Tour’s coming. Album’s coming. Tom’s coming. Tickets on sale Monday. New song “Edging” out Friday. https://t.co/lJmgXqI4ab pic.twitter.com/7y0ZoYTcQc

Lol. Is that kind of stuff still funny now that they’re all in their 50s and Travis is a regular on ‘The Kardashians’?
Anyway, I’ll be the first to admit that Blink 182 were one of my favourite bands growing up and I even liked the Skiba stuff too, but I couldn’t really get that excited when I heard the rumours about Tom rejoining again, mainly because he was so crap the last time I saw them play live and is more concerned with hunting UFOs these days. But then about an hour ago people I haven’t talked to in years started texting me and group chats started popping off and everybody is already talking about tickets to their shows next year. Even the clip of the new song doesn’t sound too terrible, so I guess they’ve reeled me in again.
See you at the O2 arena exactly one year from today. Hope Tom DeLonge actually shows up this time.
In case you don’t know what I mean, check out their headline performance from Reading Festival a few years ago. Absolutely awful.
