The father of the 21-year-old climate activist who dumped poop and urine all over a memorial to Captain Tom Moore had said he’s ashamed of his daughter’s actions. Here’s a look at Maddie Budd’s stunt if you missed it:

As a result of Maddie’s stunt, literally no minds were changed and not one person was won over to the cause, least of all her dad who said he felt sick by what his daughter had done. Jim Budd, 62, told MailOnline:
“I’m ashamed of her and what she has done. There has been a big public reaction for obvious reasons. I don’t think she understands what the hell she was unleashing.
She’s done something horrible without thinking of the consequences.
I felt sick with shock when I saw it – I have sent her a text message but she has not replied.
It goes against all the things you install in your children – it is not normal behaviour. I’m extremely sad. The fact is she has sort of gone rogue.”
He told the news outlet that his daughter had been a medical student in Manchester but put that on hold after learning about the climate crisis and wanting to get involved with protesting.
“It is very hard to understand how young people can feel so threatened by climate change that they can carry out such extreme actions.
But I’m not making excuses for her. She has made a terrible mistake. We were horrified, it’s an ongoing worry.”
Not great when even your own dad is throwing you under the bus. The good news is she’s only 21 so plenty of time to grow out of this sort of thing. Nothing wrong with being politically active or climate conscious of course, but dumping a bucket of sh*t over a sweet old man’s/war hero’s memorial is never going to win people over, no matter how hard she tried to make some kind of positive logic out of it. Back to the drawing board on that one.
